Owners MUST understand how money flows through the business

Most businesses should review their Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statement on a monthly basis. Receivables, Payables and Cash Flow should be monitored on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Incomplete or inaccurate information is of little value when making decisions.

Right because: We are flexible! Our services easily expand or contract based on client’s needs.

For 11 years we have provided on-site service to a local contractor. When the construction industry was riding a tidal wave, we were able to ramp up our services to handle the increased volume of work as well as take on the role of CFO. Handling everything from paying the bills, processing bids and contracts, participating in the acquisition of loans and lines of credit, pricing insurance and implementing an employee benefits plan to managing the conversion from independent PC’s to a network server environment, our experience and abilities were there on demand. In the recent recession, when the workload decreased, our services simply reduced to match the need. The need to add or reduce staff was our responsibility and our risk, leaving our client free to manage more important matters.

For 1 year we have provided services to a company with principles in 3 states, no centralized office, and staff spread throughout the world. We receive information electronically via email or download. The accounting software is online so management and key staff members have real time access. Financial statements and custom reports are emailed to the CFO for the monthly owners meeting.

Right because: We get it right! Our processes are customized to fit each client.

For 3 years we have provided services to an independent professional who travels frequently. The previous bookkeeping service was unreliable with customer invoices often being delayed or incorrect. We documented a system to promptly prepare the invoices, request approval, expedite delivery to customers and follow up on payment.

Right because: We handle complex bookkeeping and payroll! Our staff knows cost accounting and inventory.

For 4 years we have provided bookkeeping and payroll services to a contractor whose needs are more complex than most of our other clients. With employees in 4 unions, we file monthly contribution reports and certified payroll reports. Work locations, pay rates and tax districts change frequently, making payroll a challenge. A detailed system is used to track job costs. One vendor invoice may require classification to numerous jobs or cost codes. The job cost system also allocates overhead based on labor cost. For a contractor, accurate job cost reports are crucial.

For 5 years we have provided services to a retailer whose former accountant was a long-time family friend struggling with personal problems. Business, personal and payroll taxes had not been filed for several years and the books were not up to date. Together, we sorted through box upon box of documents to get the job done.
